NETWORKMEETING OF ANTI-DISCRIMINATORY FANS TO BE HELD IN PARIS

A network meeting of the FSE Anti-Discrimination network (ADD) will take place on 4 & 5 JUNE 2016 in Paris / France, organised jointly with our colleagues from the Queering Football initiative.

On 4 JUNE 2016 we want to bring together fans and initiatives, involved in refugee solidarity work in and around football. On 5 JUNE 2016 there will be the next meeting of the anti-discrimination division (ADD) of FSE, which will involve fans from all over Europe from the FSE membership, who are actively organising activities against discrimination in football. The meetings are part of the project ‘Queering Football’, which is co-funded by the European Commission under the ERASMUS+ Sport Programme.

Workshop “Refugees Welcome in European Football” (Paris, 4 June 2016)
The workshop, held in co-operation with the University of Brighton will assess the problems refugees face in Europe and how football fans have collaborated in recent months to create a welcoming environment. We are inviting fan-groups and grassroots-initiatives that have either a) established teams of refugees and offer players help and support, or b) supported refugees through several other ways as running collections or inviting them to the stands and integrating them into their groups. A broad range of activists from across Europe are invited to share their experience, learn from each other, develop new ideas and work on demands towards clubs, associations and other policy makers. Many of the issues faced in local and national contexts are faced across Europe. By sharing strategies and approaches, these workshop will generate new knowledge for participants and help promote diversity and inclusion in European civil society.

FSE Anti-Discrimination Division Meeting (Paris, 5 JUNE 2016)
To bring forward the work of the FSE Anti-Discrimination network on other topics in the future, we´re also holding the next network meeting on 5 JUNE 2016 in Paris. The Anti-Discrimination Division (ADD) within Football Supporters Europe (FSE) was founded to organise joint activities among football fans against discrimination and to connect FSE members with a focus of activities in the areas of

• Racism & the extreme right in football
• Woman in Football
• Homophobia
• Football & Refugees/Social Inclusion

It´s overall aim is to extend the network of football fans active against discrimination, our knowledge, to learn from each other, to increase the number of cross-country activities and to widen our expertise as fans in this field.
